# Settings — Billing

> Manage your plan, payment method, and invoices.

**Settings → Billing** is powered by Stripe. Plan changes and invoice history are accessible here without leaving the dashboard.

## Current plan

The top card shows:

* Plan name (Starter / Pro / Team / Enterprise).
* Monthly price and billing cycle.
* Renewal date.
* Quick links to **Change plan** and **Manage payment method**.

## Upgrade or downgrade

Clicking **Change plan** opens a diff view comparing your current plan with the target plan: included spans, evals, seats, retention, and price.

* **Upgrade** — takes effect immediately. The new quota is prorated for the remainder of the billing period.
* **Downgrade** — takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle so you don't lose paid-for capacity.

<Warning>
  Downgrading to a plan with shorter retention triggers a data-loss notice. Traces older than the new plan's retention window are deleted at the next nightly prune after the downgrade activates. Export anything you need before confirming.
</Warning>

Payments flow through Stripe Checkout. For self-serve plan changes you stay in the dashboard; enterprise contracts are negotiated out-of-band — contact [sales@trulayer.ai](mailto:sales@trulayer.ai).

## Payment method

**Manage payment method** opens the Stripe Customer Portal in a new tab, where you can:

* Update card details.
* Change the billing email.
* Download past invoices as PDF.
* Update your tax ID / VAT details.

Changes in the Stripe portal sync back to TruLayer within a few seconds.

## Invoice history

The **Invoices** tab lists every past invoice with date, amount, status, and download links (PDF and CSV). Hosted Stripe invoice URLs are available for forwarding to finance teams.

## Cancellation

Cancel from the Stripe Customer Portal. Your workspace remains on the current plan until the end of the paid billing period, then drops to a read-only archive for 30 days before data is purged. During the archive window you can reactivate by resubscribing.
